I started the Firm Fatherhood podcast because my journey as a dad has been both challenging and deeply meaningful. As a father of four and a grandfather, with a blended family and children from different relationships, I’ve lived the real complexities of fatherhood. Growing up without a relationship with my biological father lit a fire in me to be the best dad I could possibly be, even when I struggled as a young parent. Those struggles shaped me, and I realized they weren’t just mine alone. I wanted to share my story to help other fathers feel less alone in theirs. I also saw a clear lack of support and resources for dads, so I set out to be the kind of resource I wish I had—someone who can encourage, guide, and stand in the gap for fathers who need it most.

My journey as a father has come with challenges—making mistakes in court while fighting for my rights as a noncustodial parent. I had to learn my rights, stay focused on being a good father, and balance that with providing for my children. Watching my parents’ 40+ year marriage gave me the blueprint for love, commitment, and perseverance, and I strive to live by it. I owe it to other fathers to help fix what’s broken in the system. I use my struggles and testimony to grow, lead, and uplift others in my community. Firm Fatherhood means everything to me. It saved my life in a sense.
